All Car Rentals are subject to the following terms and conditions:

Office Hours:

Car Rental office hours are from Monday – Friday: 08h00-13h00 and 14h00-17h00. Any reference to “Office Hours” below includes these times only.

Rate changes

Note that our rates and conditions are subject to change without prior notice.

Booking and payments

Should you not wish to exercise one of our online payment options and only pay on acceptance of vehicle, we only accept Visa and Master Card.

Cancellation policy

0-14 days prior to arrival: 100% of the total cost of the total rental amount applicable if vehicle is cancelled/not collected.

15-30 days prior to arrival: 75% of the total cost of the total rental amount applicable if vehicle is cancelled/not collected.

31-45 days prior to arrival: 50% of the total cost of the total rental amount applicable if vehicle is cancelled/not collected.

46 days prior to arrival and earlier: 20% deposit is forfeited.

Authorised drivers

Drivers and renters are only authorised to drive our vehicles if they are in possession of a valid unendorsed drivers’ license and passport/ID and must be a minimum of 23 years of age.

Death of injury liability

Jihang Tours CC Car Rental is not liable for death, injuries, personal damage and/or loss.

Vehicle substitution

We reserve the right to substitute booked vehicles with a similar one should the particular vehicle not be available.

Rental extensions

Extensions on rent periods must be arranged 48 hours before the termination of the contract with the condition that payment must be made before/on commencement of the extended period.

Tyre damage or loss

Any tyre loss, repairs or damage during the rental period, will be for the renters’ account. It is the responsibility of the renter to regularly check tyre pressure and tyre surfaces and ensure that the tyres are inflated in accordance with the prescribed pressure guidelines on the vehicle statistics sheet. Jihang Tours CC Car Rental does not accept tubes, patches or second-hand tyres in the event of damage or loss. Only the same type and brand will be accepted as replacement of damaged or lost tyres.

Second spare wheel.

All our vehicles are issued with a second spare wheel.

Water and oil

The renter is responsible for regularly checking water and oil during the rental period.

Mechanical failure / Breakdowns

Should there be any mechanical failure on the vehicle, it will only be replaced within 8 hours from the time of reporting the breakdown and only once one of our regional service suppliers have declared the vehicle not repairable. Note that Jihang Tours CC Car Rental is NOT liable for any additional costs related to unplanned accommodation in cases of breakdowns, accidents with the vehicle or equipment failure during your trip.

Accidents

In the case of an accident involving the rented vehicle, an Accident Report Number must be obtained from the nearest police station within 24hours from the occurrence of the damage/accident for insurance purposes. In failing to do so, the renter will be held fully responsible for any damages or losses. All details of third parties or eyewitnesses must be recorded and reported to Jihang Tours CC Car Rental as soon as possible.

Recovery costs

In the case of an accident as noted above, the renter shall be liable for the recovery costs of the vehicle from the scene of the accident to the offices of Jihang Tours CC Car Rental. The renter shall also be held liable for the full payment of the rental period as per the initial rental contract.

Damage

The renter is responsible for the full damage to the vehicle if caused by negligence, road conditions not suitable for the vehicle and/or travelling in areas or roads not allowed by Jihang Tours CC Car Rental. This includes damage or accidents caused as a result of exceeding the prescribed speed limit or any other negligent driving.

Theft-loss Waiver

In the event of the vehicle being stolen, the renter will only be liable for the excess amount selected (keys must be handed back after event for this cover to be valid). If not chosen, the renter will be liable for the Used Replacement Retail Value of the vehicle, according to TransUnion set valuation.

Insurance

Although Jihang Tours CC Car Rental offers different insurance cover options, the renter will be held liable for full damage to the rented vehicle if damage is caused by negligence or road conditions not suitable for the rented vehicle as indicated above.

Cleaning of vehicles

Jihang Tours CC Car Rental will clean the vehicle after its return to our offices. Inspection for damage can only be done after the cleaning process and therefore the deposit will only be returned once the vehicle has been cleaned.

Pick-ups and drop-offs

Any pick-ups and drop-offs outside of normal office hours (8AM-5PM) must be arranged at the time of booking.

Airport transfers

Transfers to and from Windhoek International Airport and Eros Airport must be arranged. Transfers from and to these airports are will be charge.

Road/travel restrictions

Renters are not allowed to travel on the following roads in Namibia: D3700 and D3701 along the Kunene River and the Van Zyl’s Pass in Kaokoland. Vehicles are also not allowed to enter the Khaudum National Park in northeast Namibia without another accompanying vehicle due to its remoteness. Should a breakdown occur, at least 48 hours is required for assistance.

Off-road travel

Driving on any beaches, in any riverbeds, any protected areas, Namibian Dune belts, bush etc. and wading through water deeper than prescribed by the vehicle manufacturer are not allowed. Failure to comply with any of the above will result in the insurance being null and void.

Night time travel

Driving at night is not allowed.
